Youths are leading protests yet again to disband a rouge police unit (SARS)

After all the cases of SARS’ extortion, illegal detention, and gruesome murders, youths took to the streets to demand that the government scrap the unit.

The ongoing #EndSars protest has become the number 1 trending tweet on Twitter globally, as many people have taken it up. Lagos Youths as well as youths of other states are protesting.

The Youths of Ile-Ife, Osun state, took the protest to the OOni of Ife’s place to appeal to him also.

A source stated that “Police brutality is a global issue. The Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) in Nigeria is a state-run brute squad that murders, rape, kidnaps and tortures the people they are supposed to protect.”

The Unit has stationed vehicles around to arrest people who are protesting.

After the 72 hours of protests, Lagos youths settle based on “resolutions”.
