The Masked Singer has shut down production after seven backup dancers tested positive to COVID-19, despite rigorous social distancing and hygiene measures.
The Herald Sun reports that the unknown masked singers, judges, Dannii Minogue, Dave Hughes, Urzila Carlson and Jackie O, and host Osher Günsberg, along with the rest of the show’s crew, and behind-the-scenes interviewer, Rob Mills, are currently in self-isolation, under the advice of the Department of Health and Human Services. The amount of people tested and in self-isolation now numbers up to 200.
On Friday, one of the backup dancers felt sick at work, went home and was asked to be tested. Contract tracing later showed that seven dancers had contracted COVID-19.
The series was scheduled to film its grand final on Saturday.
